Let’s make an impact

Sustainability @ Aspire

We are committed to being good stewards of the environment and believe that local initiatives can produce a global impact. Aspire has been thoughtfully designed to minimize our energy consumption and enhance indoor air quality.

“Achieving LEED certification is more than just implementing sustainable practices. It represents a commitment to making the world a better place and influencing others to do better.”

– Peter Templeton, president and CEO, USGBC.

Site

Parking includes 7 preferred spaces for fuel efficient vehicles and 2 electric vehicle charging spaces. Aspire is within a 1/2 mile walking distance to public transportation.

White top roof and parking underground reduce heat island effects to minimize the impact on microclimates as well as human and wildlife habitats.

Indoor Air Quality

To ensure superior indoor air quality, Aspire has chosen to use low or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the adhesives & sealants, paints & coatings, and flooring systems throughout the building. This reduces indoor air contaminates that are odorous, irritating and/or harmful to the comfort and well-being of installers and occupants.

HVAC systems and the building’s envelope have been designed to meet the requirements of ASHRAE 55-2013, “Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy” to provide a comfortable thermal environment that promotes occupant productivity and well-being.

Energy

Through LED lighting, high-performance glazing, and efficient HVAC systems and appliances, Aspire has targeted an estimated 22% energy cost savings compared to a code-compliant building.

Fundamental & enhanced commissioning was employed to ensure building systems were installed, calibrated, and performed as intended.

Water

By installing water efficient flow and flush fixtures, Aspire is targeting a savings of 40% of total indoor potable water usage compared to a baseline building.

Materials

At least 10% of all materials used during construction contained recycled content and were also extracted, processed, and manufactured within 500 miles of the site.

Aspire has set a goal to divert at least 50% of construction & demolition waste from the landfill. A recycling waste program has also been provided for tenants to encourage responsible waste diversion.
